A Visionary- B. Arasoji Rao
Sri B Arasoji Rao was a well-known businessman and philanthropist from the Maratha Community in Bangalore. He felt that education is the best way to help uplift the poor and downtrodden sections of the society. Being large hearted and magnanimous, he gave a corpus of Rupees one lakh and fifty thousand in 1945.
He also bequeathed properties that could be used to financially help school children and students belonging to socially and educationally backward communities with special emphasis on the Maratha Community. He also wanted to construct hostels and establish infrastructure which could be used for the all-round development of the community. To this end, he took the initiative to create this trust to achieve his vision of rendering yeoman service to the Maratha Community.
A Memorial in honor of Shri B Arasoji Rao is installed in Rajaji Nagar recognizing his services and contribution to the society and especially to Maratha Community
